Our next Scrap Fever Weekend Retreat will be October 22nd-24th 2010.
We’re really excited to have the fantastic Anna Bowkiss from PencilLines and Kelly Goree from Basic Grey joining us to teach some inspiring classes.
As always, it’s going to be a fabulous weekend full of ideas, techniques, inspiration, and shopping!
We’re back at our fabulous venue, Latimer Place, just minutes from the M25 but a luxurious venue set in 30 acres of fantastic grounds, just perfect for a relaxing break from it all.

Scrap Fever 5 – Meet Kelly Purkey

Kelly Purkey is a fantastic graphic designer and scrapbooker living in New York. Kelly has been an American Crafts product designer, a 2Peas in a Bucket Garden Girl, and a member of the American Crafts and Fiskars design teams, along with being on the Creating Keepsakes 2008-09 Dream Team and a CKConvention instructor. Kelly will be teaching some fantastic classes at our Scrap Fever weekend in April.
I remember the day I discovered my Grandmother’s scrapbooks and was so delighted to have this glimpse into her life. It all became clear exactly why I take so many photos, save each piece of paper, and try to record every aspect of my life as a young single girl. I am lucky to currently live in New York City, where there is inspiration around every corner. Besides scrapbooking I love traveling, curling up with a good book, laughing with friends, and cupcakes with lots of icing.

Changes…
Posted in Clubs, Scrap Fever, The Shop on 11/05/2009 09:35 am by Willow Tree CraftsAs most of you will have seen, I am expecting our second baby in the New Year. With the upcoming change, we have had to look at Willow Tree Crafts, and make some decisions. With regret, we will be closing the Watford shop, and focusing on our Online Shop, and our Clubs and Events. For the time being, the Watford shop will only be open on the first Saturday of the month, except January when we will not be able to open at all.
It sounds cliche to say it’s about spending time with family, but for me that’s what scrapbooking is all about, celebrating your family, and the people you enjoy having in your life. I’m hoping to be able to get back to having a family life, and being able to enjoy scrapbooking again.
Keep an eye on the website as we’ll be sorting everything out, and be clearing out a lot of fab stash. There will be some great offers coming up so bookmark us and keep checking the site!
With more free time, I can also concentrate on our monthly subscription clubs, and our Scrap Fever events, making them better than ever. We hope to see you there soon.

Hi I’m Dyan,
I am the owner of Art from the Heart, a large teaching and design studio in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, where I can be found teaching a large variety of eclectic classes. I am the Senior Educator in Europe for Ranger Industries and I am well known for my innovative and down to earth style, and I am a regular contributor to the British crafting magazines. I have always been obsessed with paint and techniques and I am currently on a mission to get the world Art Journaling and strongly believe it should be available on the NHS..!! lol.
Along with my daughter Jay, we founded Blonde Moments, which is a British company with fabby hand painted papers large and small, funky rubber stamps, stunning pearl pigments and gorgeous ultra thick embossing powders.
I am also mum to four grown up kids, Ben, Tom, Jay and Emmi and proud grandma to the gorgeous Maisie Lilly. My favourite things of all time are: Toffees, Paint, Art journaling, Firemen, the colour Black and Northern Soul – Keep the Faith!

There were great classes by Layle and Mary Anne, and I think everyone loved their final projects, We’ve never seen scrapbookers work so hard on completing their classes at the retreat!

Posted in Scrap Fever on 10/23/2009 05:03 pm by Willow Tree CraftsIn less than a week we’ll all be at Scrap Fever, probably unpacking the shop and geting it all ready to open, the crop room will be getting ready too, although attendees can check in from 2pm so you could well have already settled in, and even been to the pool and jacuzzi for a while!
I’m sure we’ll all be ready for a fantastic meal and a drink in the bar later…then great classes from Layle and Mary Anne all weekend.
