Have you got Scrap Fever?
Posted in Scrap Fever on 03/28/2009 10:34 am by Willow Tree CraftsWe’re still packing kits, and waiting for the UPS man to bring some final touches for Scrap Fever next weekend. As usual we’re expecting it to be a fantastic weekend, We have a great venue, and 2 of the best instructors, Donna Downey and Venessa Matthews teaching classes. I’m also looking forward to a couple of great nights sleep in those beds, and some great food with no cooking or washing up to do all weekend! (that’s almost as good as the scrapping!) If you are joining us this weekend, don’t forget to sort out your photos and have them all ready so you can complete your class projects, and if there’s anything you’ll need for the weekend, place your order and note that it’s for Scrap Fever and we’ll get it all ready for you.
One of the most common things we hear at the end of a Scrap Fever weekend is “When’s the next one!”. We don’t usually have the next one scheduled, but now we’re going to twice a year we do, so we expect a lot of places for Scrap Fever October to be booked this weekend. If you want to go please book as soon as you can as we don’t like having to disappoint people.
October 2009
If you’re not booked on for Scrap Fever in October, book your place as soon as you can. We’ve got Layle Koncar and Mary Anne Walters teaching, so we’re sure it’s going to be a great weekend full of inspiration.
My Kind of Beautiful

Combine the soft texture of natural canvas with the colorful blend of patterned papers to create a “beautiful” cascade style album. in class techniques will include handstitching, book altering and distressing.
I have to admit to being a fan of mini albums. I like being able to put a small collection of photos together in one place and I can never fit that many on a single layout. The colours in this are lovely and can be changed to suit your theme or subject. I’m really looking forward to this one.

Journey of Me

You will make this unique, textural gate fold album from what may seem to the untrained eye as garbage. turn trash into treasure as we cut, distress, assemble, alter and most of all have fun creating a special album to document your life and your journey through it.
Join us as we create this fantastic 9 x 9” gatefold album in Donna Downeys Journey of Me class. So often scrapbookers create albums and layouts of people they love, but rarely about themselves. Even finding photos of themselves can be hard, so why not make this album about your life. Document places you have lived, or people who have made you who you are. A great combination of other people, places and objects that are important to you, and you still don’t need any photos of yourself!

Unscripted
Posted in Scrapbooking, The Shop on 06/07/2008 09:55 am by Willow Tree CraftsI’m sure you all know that we’ve got the great Donna Downey coming over June 28th-29th to teach a selection of classes. One of the is Unscripted and looks fantastic. In this class Donna will help you create a 6×12 inch album.

In this class you will contruct, personlize, distress and “BIND-it ALL” to create a multi inclusion style 6 x 12 album that uses both scrapbooking and mixed media items such as transparencies, old text pages, paint chips and book board frames.
I’m really looking forward to this one as I’ve always loved mixed media work. I’ve got so many tubs and jars of glazes and paints and files full of what my husband loving calls junk, (I call it ephemera) it’s just not funny anymore. I’m looking forward to being inspired to put it all to good use.
