Combine the soft texture of natural canvas with the colorful blend of patterned papers to create a “beautiful” cascade style album. in class techniques will include handstitching, book altering and distressing.

I have to admit to being a fan of mini albums. I like being able to put a small collection of photos together in one place and I can never fit that many on a single layout. The colours in this are lovely and can be changed to suit your theme or subject. I’m really looking forward to this one.

Journey of Me

You will make this unique, textural gate fold album from what may seem to the untrained eye as garbage. turn trash into treasure as we cut, distress, assemble, alter and most of all have fun creating a special album to document your life and your journey through it.

Join us as we create this fantastic 9 x 9” gatefold album in Donna Downeys Journey of Me class. So often scrapbookers create albums and layouts of people they love, but rarely about themselves. Even finding photos of themselves can be hard, so why not make this album about your life. Document places you have lived, or people who have made you who you are. A great combination of other people, places and objects that are important to you, and you still don’t need any photos of yourself!

Unscripted

I’m sure you all know that we’ve got the great Donna Downey coming over June 28th-29th to teach a selection of classes. One of the is Unscripted and looks fantastic. In this class Donna will help you create a 6×12 inch album.

In this class you will contruct, personlize, distress and “BIND-it ALL” to create a multi inclusion style 6 x 12 album that uses both scrapbooking and mixed media items such as transparencies, old text pages, paint chips and book board frames.

I’m really looking forward to this one as I’ve always loved mixed media work. I’ve got so many tubs and jars of glazes and paints and files full of what my husband loving calls junk, (I call it ephemera) it’s just not funny anymore. I’m looking forward to being inspired to put it all to good use.

Welcoming Donna Downey

We’re really excited to be welcoming Donna Downey back to teach. Donna was one of the instructors at Scrap Fever in 2007, and was unable to attend Scrap Fever in 2008 as she was running her own event, Inspired.

With 5 fantastic classes available at Willow Tree Crafts over the weekend of June 28th-29th we’re looking forward to a weekend of fun, laughter, and inspiration.

We hope you’ll be able to join us.
