Scrapathon Preparation

it’s a busy time getting ready for the Scrapathon, but here’s a few details about what will be happening.

We’ll be having complete layouts, classes and challenges over the weekend, so do join us, and share your creativity with us too.

We’ll be using some of our favourite supplies, including our new stamps, particularly Zara, and the Large Journalling Block. We’ve all got favourite styles and designs, so find a stamp alphabet that you like, medium sized and we’ll get lots of use out of it. Other useful stamps are date/calendar stamps, and our Journalling Spots will come in very useful.

Make sure you’ve got plenty of adhesive, and some ink pads, black, brown and white are great basics and go with almost everything!

A good set of journalling pens will be useful, we’ll be doing a lot of hand journalling and it’s so much quicker and easier than using a computer.

You will need quite a lot of cardstock and patterned paper to do everything, but rather than pack up the colours we used (I only have a son so I ‘m using a lot of blue and green these days!) have your cardstock to hand. It’s always good to have a really good supply of basics, Blackbird, Avalanche, and Quick Sand are some of my favourites, they work with anything and by just adding a bit of colour you can completely change the look of a page.

You’ll also need your basic toolkit, ruler, trimmer, adhesives, and a pair of scallop scissors will be useful, or the Fiskars Treading Water punch.

For quick Journalling Spots we’ll be using some of the Scenic Route sets, such as the Sumner Journalling Die Cuts.

As for Photos, we’ll be using quite a few 6×4, 5×7, 8×6 and a couple of 10×8. Some layouts will also need smaller photos, so you can either print out smaller versions, or crop down some 6×4 size prints.

We’ll have more exact lists available later in the week, so check back for more details.
