The weekend fee includes all of your crop time, 2 night accommodation, food and there’s free flowing cappuccinos, lattes and green tea stations.

Projects

Bring your own projects, or choose as many of the additional project kits as you like, and have your supplies ready to go when you arrive. Some projects will also include pre-weekend classes to make sure you are ready to go! Complete as many projects as you like, whenever you like. There are no class times, so you can work at your own pace. If there’s more projects than you can finish in a weekend, take the full instructions home with you.

Scrapathon: Your Supplies…Photos

During our Scrapathon weekend we’ve got 52 layouts for you, perfect for a themed album, maybe a holiday or wedding album, or a year in the life for example.

We’ll be using one of the fantastic American Crafts 12×12 D-Ring Albums, with a variety of page sizes. These albums are great for mixing and matching page sizes, perfect for themed albums when you don’t always want to do ‘full’ size pages.

It will be a very busy weekend, but don’t panic, the posts will stay on the blog, you can see last years here on the blog, so if you can’t join us for the whole weekend, you can always check in later, or plan a crop weekend of your own with a few friends and all work on a project together.

I find the trick to scrapping a lot in a short time, particularly for a project such as a themed album or mini book, is to collect everything together before you start.

Some things are easier to grab than others if you’ve forgotten anything, you can generally add an extra piece of Bazzill, or some Patterned Paper from your stash, so don’t panic about those.

The first thing I start with is my photos, to play along with us, I’ve listed the photo sizes we’ll be using on each layout, as always, you can change any of these, use different photos, different colours, adapt it to suit your style and theme.

Scrapathon Photo List:

It’s easier to break everything down into page packs, our Zip Lock bags are perfect for this, number each bag with a marker, and pop in the photos you’ll be using for each one. We’ll give you more details later in the week for other supplies you can pack up before the weekend.

You can find our Scrapathon Supplies in the Shop.

Digi Classes

Thank You so much to those of you that completed our Digi Class Survey, it’s great to see what you want so we can create the right classes for you!

It seems the main request was for Intermediate Classes. Our Brushes Introduction, and Sampler Layout are both Intermediate level. If you’re not sure about these, our Photo Editing Tricks is our beginner class.

In Photo Editing Tricks we show you the basics of Photoshop Elements and how to manipulate your photos. We also explain how and why the programs and tools work, giving you a great base to start using Photoshop or Photoshop Elements. It’s the perfect starting point, even if you know a bit about using these programs.

If you’ve not used brushes before, then our Brushes Introduction will open your eyes to the options and possibilities. Brushes are one of the most useful tools for traditional, hybrid, or digi scrappers, like die cuts or stamps to scrappers! Our next Brushes Introduction class is July 2nd 7-9pm.

Book Your Spot Online

We build on all of the tools and techniques we introduce in Photo Editing Tricks and the Brushes Introduction class. Our next Sampler Layout class is July 22nd 7-9pm

I Love My Planner!

lucypic

I love my planner because it gives me a place to doodle, write, sketch and be inspired even when I’m no where near my scrapbooking stuff. It keeps the creativity flowing, so when I’m on the bus or train I can flip through and find something I want to try when I get home. I find it keeps the excitement in scrapbooking, I spend time looking through all the layouts and details I stick in, then i immediately feel I want to go home and try it out! The sketch pages are great, letting you plan every little details with a nice big space to draw or stick in other layouts. The journaling pages have plenty of room to let your thoughts flow, and gives you the freedom to think and edit things before finally doing the real page. It helps me feel prepared on days where I just can’t motivate myself to start.

As exepcted, the diary pages are great for keeping track of things, and the little box on each page is handy to pop a little inspiration or something you want to try that week, a little challenge to keep up with. I also like using the “to do” list pages as a “to buy” list… there’s something nice about writing down the scrappy stuff you’d like and tick if off when you get round to buying it! And finally, the pockets at the front and back are very useful for slotting those everyday bits and bobs, notes or even photos that you’re looking to plan a layout around.

So thats why I love my planner!

Scrapathon

We’ll be spending the weekend of July 25th-27th releasing a new layout and mini class every hour from 8pm on Friday night until 11pm on Sunday. Pop in to see what we’re up to, spend a few hours with us, or the whole weekend.

Similar to a cybercrop, there’s no travelling, so no petrol costs, and you can scrapbook in your pajamas all day, or meet up with a few friends to crop together and share supplies or tools.

It’s completely free to join in and use up some of your stash, and we will be offering a couple of kits if you want the same supplies as us.

Over the next few weeks we’ll let you know what you’ll need to complete all 52 layouts. We’ll list how many photos at which size, and what kind of tools and scrapbooking supplies that you might want to hand.

We’ll have challenges and competitions over the weekend, and nothing beats the feeling of getting lots of layouts done.

Scrap Fever Update

As you have probably seen, we have opened the registrations for Scrap Fever for next April. I think everyone had a great time this year, which is why we are currently full with pre-registrations. we have set up a waiting list that you can join if any places become available.

We have a number of people already on the waiting list, so we are considering running a second weekend in 2009. IF we do run a second weekend we will offer places on it to those on the waiting list first, so even if you are pre-registered for the April event you can also register on the waiting list. There’s no commitment to the waiting list but it will give us an idea of numbers which will help us make any decision.
